Opening in July, Hope Hospice in Missoula will serve patients and families from across Montana.

June 3, 2025, Missoula, Mont.—Partners Hope Foundation’s vision to create a center for hospice and end-of-life care for Montana is now reality. The Missoula nonprofit, founded in 2017 by a group of concerned community members and medical professionals, envisioned a dedicated center for end-of-life care, support and education where the final stage of life is valued and embraced. Today, the Foundation celebrates the dedication of Hope Hospice Center, alongside the center’s clinical care provider, Partners In Home Care, and hundreds of supporters.

“This truly has been a grassroots project,” said Betsy Bach, PhD, board chair of Partners Hope Foundation. “Hope Hospice has been built with thousands of hours of volunteer and staff time and supported 100% by philanthropic giving. The community has truly embraced this project, and we can’t be more grateful. The end-of-life experience of thousands of Montanans will be enriched and transformed as they find comfort and care at Hope Hospice.”

To date, Partners Hope Foundation’s Embrace Campaign has raised $15 million to create and sustain Hope Hospice. When open to patients and families in July, Hope Hospice will be the only dedicated inpatient hospice center in Western Montana and only the second in the state. (Peace Hospice in Great Falls is the only other dedicated hospice facility currently operating in Montana.) Hope Hospice has 12 private patient care rooms with room to expand to meet future needs. In its first five years, the center is expected to serve 3,000 patients.

“Montana has an increasingly aging population. For those who live alone, who do not have nearby family members and who live in rural areas far from medical providers, delivering quality care at the end of life is difficult,” said Amanda Yeoman Melro, executive director of Hope Hospice Center. “Hope Hospice will help ease the burden when dying at home is not an option or not ideal. This will be a place where individuals can receive around-the-clock exceptional care and family members are always welcome by their side.”

Community collaboration has been at the forefront of Partners Hope Foundation’s efforts. The Foundation has contracted with Partners In Home Care to be the clinical care provider of Hope Hospice. Locally owned and established in 1987, Partners In Home Care is the largest nonprofit provider of home health and hospice care in Western Montana, with a long legacy of providing compassionate care to patients and families. Their team, including medical director, nurse practitioners, pharmacist, nurses, social workers, chaplains CNAs and administration, will provide day-to-day patient care as well as family support and bereavement services at the center.

“It is an honor to provide compassionate and holistic care to the patients and families who will come to Hope Hospice,” said Corin Schneider, CEO of Partners In Home Care. “Our team looks forward to expanding our services to this beautiful space that will be a sanctuary for all who enter.”

Partners Hope Foundation is also partnering with several nonprofit organizations, including Tamarack Grief Resource Center and Missoula Aging Services, to provide grief and support services to families and the community.

“Hope Hospice will truly be a center,” Yeoman Melro added. “This will be a place where everyone in our Montana community can come to learn about the end of life, plan for it and find support.”

Partners Hope Foundation invites the public to Open Houses at Hope Hospice on Wednesday, June 4 and Thursday, June 5, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Hope Hospice is located at 3615 Union Pacific Street in Missoula, across from Home Depot.

Currently, Partners In Home Care is hiring for several open positions at Hope Hospice. More information about the center and careers available can be found at hopehospicecenter.org. E5P
